Having been divided against the self, women want to speak, but remain silent.
Women will free traditions, thought and customs only by hearing each other and thus making it possible to speak our word.
... the Antichrist and the Second Coming of Women are synonymous. This
Second Coming is not a return of Christ but a new arrival of female presence, once strong and powerful, but enchained since the dawn of patriarchy.
[The] power of psychological intimidation is enormous. Millions who might smile at being labeled “heretic” or “sinful” for refusing to conform to the norms of sexist society can be cowed and kept in line by labels “sick”, “neurotic” or “unfeminine”.
[The Fall in Genesis] misnames the mystery of evil, casting it into the distorted mold of the myth of feminine evil.
Woman has suffered both mentally and psychically from the God who is the Judge of “sin”, in whose name we have been informed that birth control and abortion are unequivocally wrong, that we should be subordinate to our husbands, that we must be present at rituals and services in which men have all the leadership roles and in which we are degraded not only by enforced passivity but also verbally and symbolically.
As marginal beings who are coming into awareness, women are in a situation to see that “God’s plan” is often a front for men’s plans and a cover for inadequacy, ignorance, and evil.
