Willie van Rensburg's latest works in acrylic and mixed media immediately attract attention for their strength and vibrance in the African inspired design, yet the works remain uncomplicated.

In the works "Magic of African Abstract" he depicts a variety of interesting designs and textures, placed in free space and highlighted by fine detail creating images of rhythm and freedom.

The title reinforces the inclusion of circles, triangles and crosses in his works as these shapes symbolise African culture, for example, many aspects of African life have traditional circles, i.e. round dwellings. The triangle is very prominent in Ndebele art. The cross features prominently in its simplest form and is sometimes also an elaborately designed cross.
