Balance 2003 | Upstairs @ Bamboo

Large pastel and charcoal drawings on Arches paper, speak about a celebration of life, I juxtapose memories, with my personal collection of icons, namely African dolls and a wooden puppet interacting with photographs of playground equipment, thus creating a balance between the connections of the past and the joy of the present.

Each drawing has its own story to tell, “Full Circle for Pandi” was drawn in memory of my special boxer dog, if you look carefully, you will see a ghost image of her, at the base of the round-a-bout.
