About The Artist
I create raw and minimal art on paper by utilizing printmaking and digital art techniques. The current series titled "Erosion" is created utilizing silkscreen techniques. My work explores themes of adolescent culture, social status and identity. I am also interested in the after effects of social group conformity. My art is actualized in large, conceptually related series.
The theme "Erosion" is manifested from the fact of earth elements eroding over time, I appropriated the idea to we humans, "how far are we willing to change and conform to an image in order to be accepted and not be out casts within a society?" Thus resulting in the Erosion of our being or true self to become something one is not. My primary goal is to induce critical thinking of themes of identity and social culture status. The gesture of each figure and pose representative of moments one might act from what they would be feeling
The prints' backgrounds consist large void area as to create isolation as to reflect ones inner being or thought imagery. Hard harsh line works of figure are representative of hard conflicting emotions. I wish to travel still in this path, from interest to find out what makes us who we are in the end. As to hopefully succeed in portraying it in the form of art.
