"PORTRAITS" - Anton KarstelSOLO EXHIBITION BY ANTON KARSTELThis exhibition, "Portraits" is part of a new body of work using mugshots of wanted felons as its source. Their offences range from serious crimes like murder to petty crimes like shoplifting. I`m only focussing on western countries such as America and Europe. The portraits stray from the subjects` identities in the source photos and are reincarnated into individuals who don`t exist, bearing only a family resemblance to the subjects. I christen the paintings with new names. |
