![]() NYMPHÉAS : Les Femmes Émergentes – In Conversation with Monet9 January 2026 - 7 February 2026 Participating: Cornè Theron Marking her first solo return to South African soil since relocating to France in 2019, Theron brings a transformative body of work that bridges the gap between Impressionist heritage and contemporary "neo-optical" exploration.
In Conversation with Monet In this collection, Theron engages in a visual dialogue with Claude Monet’s iconic water lilies. As a self-described neo-optical artist, Theron utilizes glass filters—inspired by the vintage glass found in old French doors—to "pixelate" her oil paintings.
The exhibition explores water as a primary metaphor for the subconscious. By depicting women submerged or emerging from fluid environments, Theron examines the "perpetual blur" of our inner memories and the fragile surface tension between our digital and natural worlds.
Featured Highlights:
• 17 New Artworks: A curated selection of oil on canvas artworks.
• The "Pixel" Aesthetic: Experience Theron’s signature style where light and form dissolve into abstract, shimmering fragments.
• A Homecoming: This show represents a significant milestone in the artist's career, blending her South African roots with her recent experiences in the historic glass-making regions of France.
