Earlier Works

Zuanda Badenhorst uses feminine metaphors like lipsticks, teapots, jugs, and vessels. These are all utensils daily used by women, and with which women can identify.

Certain phallic characteristics might be present in landscape or plant elements which are typical of the South Africa environment.

Theatrical elements, like curtains are added as dramatic influence.

All the works are excecuted in bright colours and are "framed" with a decorative pattern. This gives the idea of a picture within a picture.
