Two Day Cement and Concrete Workshop with Damien Grivas

Venue: Shop No.1, Blairjohn Building, Cnr Barkston And Conrad Drives, Blairgowrie, Randburg

Damien Grivas is a multidisciplinary artist who specialises in decorative hotel, restaurant and corporate installations. He has also facilitated cement and concrete workshops on behalf of the Cement and Concrete Institute and PPC for over 10 years.
 
Day 1: Learn
  • About cement and how it's made
  • Mixing concrete
  • Admixtures
  • New technology concretes
  • Various types of moulds
  • Design and make your own waste mould
 
Day 2: Play
  • See how other people play with concrete
  • Play with pigments
  • Pour plasticizer
  • Experience fibre concrete
  • Sculpt vertic'art
  • Explore glass fibre reinforced concrete
  • Cast your own object
What you need to bring:
  • Wear old clothing that you won't mind getting damaged
  • Closed shoes
  • Dishwashing gloves
  • Empty plastic containers (cups, ice-cream and yoghurt tubs, cold drink, fruit juice and water bottles)
 
Cost includes all admixtures
