Being an artist is my escape from everyday life. The aspect I value most about being an artist is the profound freedom it grants me to explore various fields of study through any medium. My work spans mixed media glass art, digital art, photography, sculpture, painting, and installation art.
Light serves as a pivotal element in my artworks, acting as a golden thread that weaves through my creations. The unique properties of glass—its ability to capture, reflect, and refract light—are central to my practice. The phenomenon of refraction, which bends light rays as they pass from one medium to another, mirrors my intent to alter perceptions.
Utilising glass sheets—whether textured, coloured, digitally printed, layered, spray-painted, or sandblasted—I combine them with various mediums to create cohesive works. My participation in glass workshops at Ngwenya Glass in Eswatini reinforced my passion for glass, igniting a deeper creative drive. Esteemed mentors, including Peter Bremers, Carl Jeppe, and Jan van der Merwe, have profoundly influenced and guided my artistic journey.
