Artist:  Ilse Fourie Title:  Blair Athol, Lanseria, Johannesburg Medium: Charcoal on Fabriano Size:  42 x 58cm Price on Request My experience of the lockdown was one of gratefulness. It gave me time to look at my life introspectively, calm down and enjoy the simple things. I became in touch with my environment. My home and my garden became my friends and I started cooking creatively which brought much joy! As there was no pressure and timeline to produce any sort of masterpiece, I felt I could draw and paint just what I like and what was around me. I started writing poetry, I suppose because my whole being was calmed down. The lockdown made my studio a happy place, as opposed to a work place.
