What Teaching Teaches Me27 July 2024 Participating: Xolani Malindi | Melusi Njabulo Hadebe | Xolani Galax Ngwenya he Springs Art Gallery (SAG) presents What Teaching Teaches Me, a group exhibition
bringing together a group of three mentors and teachers who are all professional artists exploring abstraction in obvious and commonplace environments. What Teaching Teaches Me features works encapsulating ideas about artists trying to find their voices of expression. This colourful expressive exhibition looks at new works by contemporary artists. This group exhibition includes paintings, watercolours, prints, collages, and drawings from diverse sources of inspiration ranging from abstract images to diverse styles, subjects, and interpretations. The exhibition project idea explores and illustrates creativity, thoughts and new ideas, and reveals the role of art in dealing with everyday life teachings. Through the exhibition, SAG aims to raise public awareness of emerging visual artists by providing exhibition space and the opportunity to meet artists and see their work. The exhibition is part of the gallery’s experimental solo and group series project idea, which focuses on launching new careers of emerging and promising artists. It is further aimed at contributing to the awareness, promotion, and enrichment of SAG as an art resource centre.
