Pearl3 October 2020 A group exhibition curated by Gordon Froud.
4 October 2020 heralds the 50th anniversary of the death of Janis Joplin. As one of the most powerful female singers of the 20th Century – she carved a short career that lasted only 8 years. She joined the 27 club alongside Jimmy Hendrix and Jim Morrison and later greats like Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain. Artbox Gallery in Pretoria having hosted the Bob Dylan and Pink Floyd – The Wall exhibitions in 2019 follows up with an exhibition titled “Pearl” – A tribute to Janis Joplin.
Once again this will be curated by Gordon Froud who curated “Altered Pieces’ – a tribute to Leonard Cohen,
“Tom Waits for no man” – a tribute to Tom Waits and
