kumuka1 May 2025 Participating: Tafadzwa Masudi The word "kumuka” originates from Shona, a language spoken widely in Zimbabwe, and at its core means "to rise”, “to awaken” or “to return".
In previous exhibitions the subjects in Masudi’s paintings were presented as individuals with dreams, hopes and expectations in a world of uncertainty. Now they show a peace of mind. Challenges still exist, but they are aligned with universal truths and individual essence.
