 A Quiet Stature8 June 2022 - 7 July 2022 Goodman Gallery Cape Town is delighted to present A Quiet Stature, an exhibition of works by David Koloane. This show is a tribute to the artist at the third anniversary of his passing on 30 June 2019. The exhibition commemorates his skill and influence as a multidisciplinary artist whose work has made a profound impact on South Africa’s cultural landscape.
A small selection of never before seen works, including his 2019 single channel animated video Something out of Nothing, will accompany works such as Hillbrow Hustle (2011) and Doves (2008) allowing viewers to get an expansive understanding of Koloane in his later years. The exhibition also includes an iconic historical work, Scavengers ll (1993), which has only been viewed publicly once before.
A walkabout of the exhibition will take place on 11 June at 11am. This will be hosted by Neil Dundas the curator of the exhibition and a close collaborator of Koloane's from the Johannesburg Art Foundation.
