Neo Ramushu Mokgoshing’s abstract expressionism focuses on industrial processes and their impact on social life. In his large-scale paintings, of subjects as diverse as mining and religion, Neo experiments with everyday objects and raw mining materials such as chromite, ferrite, copper ore and coal
to create tactile oil-on-canvas works. These are sensuous and emotive expressions of the impact of industrialisation on the people and landscapes of South Africa.
