Sculpture

           

This is a sculpture about infertility.

While daily life is full of reminders about parenthood and birth. Everybody continually tells you to forget about it. You also meet an awful lot of self-appointed authorities on the subject.

You have to try your best to carry on living as if everything is ok. It isn’t!

I liked the imagery of the perfect housewives produced in the fifties and tried to capture that. I particularly liked the one poster with the housewife ironing, that has the caption “if by happy you mean stuck with no means of getting out… then yes, I am very happy”
