Two Solo Exhibitions

10 July 2020

Participating: Wilhelm [Willie] Saayman and Lothar Bottcher

Wilhelm [Willie] Saayman - The Rogues Gallery

Lothar Böttcher - Iceberg

You are invited to something new, a staggered exhibition opening:

Friday 10 July
15h00 - 16h30

Saturday 11 July
11h00 - 12h30 or 15h00 - 16h30

Sunday 12 July
11h00 - 12h30

Confronted with the lockdown, Willie Saayman conjures up a plethora of new characters using pastels, a medium he has not explored before. Inspired by politics, a world gone awry and the twisted morals of our time, these new works start off as single heads against empty backgrounds and gradually morph into multi-layered,colour-filled dreamscapes. Powerful men with dubious motives peer out at us while an invisible virus holds us ransom. Welcome to the Rogues Gallery!

Lothar Bottcher has always been fascinated by how light entwines itself with glass and recently read a paper on the act of scrying, which in words revealed the magical experiences we have "to see images in a crystal, water, etc. which reveal the past or forebode the future". My new Iceberg series refers to the unrevealed, just the tip, yet entice the viewer to come closer and explore.

Please RSVP by email, WhatsApp or phone call to reserve your specific timeslot - no more than 10 people in the gallery space at the same time.

Should you like to make an arrangement to see the exhibition any other time,
