Scenes of an Emerging Artist

5 July 2019

Botaki Ba Afrika presents Scenes of an Emerging Artist art exhibition By Mohau Moholane aimed at providing young upcoming artists with a platform to showcase and an opening to bridging the gap between professional, established, emerging and aspirant contemporary visual artists in Tshwane, South Africa.

Drawing inspiration from the Father of urban black art and social realism Sir Gerard Sekota, Mohau Moholane explores the struggle of black South Africans transitioning from the apartheid era into the democratic era. Every artist has a preferred medium, Mohau indulges in the use of oil paint as his preferred art medium as not only does it allow him the ability to better depict the emotions of subjects at matter but it also allows him the ability to better control the mood and tone of his artworks.

Mohau Moholane is an art student and graphic designer originally from the city of gold Johannesburg, currently located in the metropolitan City of Tshwane in pursuit of his art endeavors.
